A message from our patron, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand

Ms. Arjaree Sriratanaban is currently Ambassador-designate of the Kingdom ofThailand to the Commonwealth of Australia. She most recently served as Director-General of the Department of East Asian Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand from 2019 to2022.

                        Joining the Thai foreign service in 1993, Ms. Sriratanaban started her career as a desk officer in the Department of European Affairs and subsequently in the Department of East Asian Affairs. Her first overseas posting was to the Permanent Mission of Thailand to the United Nations in New York from 2000 to 2004. Upon her return, she worked in the Office of Japan-Thailand Economic Partnership Office under the Office of the Permanent Secretary, the Office of the Minister, and the Department of Information, where she was Director of News Division. She was then assigned to the Royal Thai Embassy in Washington, D.C. as MinisterCounsellor from 2011 to 2015.

                         Ms. Sriratanaban also served as Director of the Office of Policy and Planning (2015-2016), Deputy Director-General of the Department of East Asian Affairs (2017-2018) and Ambassador Attached to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2018-2019).

                         A native of Bangkok, Thailand, Ms. Sriratanaban graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (First Class Honours) from the Faculty of Arts, Chulalongkorn University. She obtained a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy (M.A.L.D.) from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University, United States.
